Where should I start if I want to learn Graphic design?

Hi guys
I am interested to learn about Graphic design. I did some research. There are a lot of people recommended to use http://www.gimp.org. I would to know what I have to do next after done register? What do I have to download to use the program? I am very new for this, please help me get start. Thanks a lot for your time. I appreciated it. Have a great day!

    You just download the program lol. You don’t need anything. Gimp is an alternative to photoshop has almost everything it has, but it’s free.

    They have a nice database of tutorials that will get you started.

    just download the gimp program. if you search gimp tutorials there will be a lot of things that come up that will help you. if you need anymore help just message me.

    get photoshop.
    its perfect for graphic design.

    you hvae to pay for it tho.
    but you can download it illigally on liek limewire and stuff.

    all the big companies use it .

    graphic design isn’t just photoshop
    so also look at vector , page design and 3d software too
    ( 3d software Not necessary)
    e.g. Adobe Illustrator / Macromedia Freehand / Adobe indesign / QuarkXPress / and of course Photoshop

    if you want to go professional then i WOULD advise you on getting an apple mac as it is the industry standard computer and operating system for the creative industry e.g. Graphic Design

    and also look at starting a Graphic design course at college too for this you will need a mac

    It is a free program.And you can see a lot of tutorial`s that can help you to learn how to use gimp at youtube.com. here is a link for some of them
