Q&A: What makes Macs “Better for Graphic Design”?

Question by JoeyRay: What makes Macs “Better for Graphic Design”?
I hear that a lot. But nothing to back it up.

I’m not talking about the price or specs. I’m talking about OS X+Apple hardware.

Don’t try to talk me out of getting one. I have enough money and can get by with the programs. I’m just trying to see why some people insist that.

I think it’s untrue because of the price and limited software. I’m not saying the OS is better or worse than Windows, Though.

Thanks.
@Josh. I most a lot do work. But for example 3DS Max and Autocad.
Edit:*I know*

Well have you tried loading photoshop on an average windows PC? I used to have a dell, it would take literally about 50-60 seconds for it to be up and running. Even when it was running the PC fans would become stupidly loud and it would lag like hell, when this was a computer with more or less the same specs as my iMac.

Loading photoshop on my iMac is virtually instantaneous. it’s not slow or laggy in the slightest. Mac software is designed to actually used the computers hardware to the fullest, Windows software is designed simply to function… if you’re lucky.

  1. Limited software? Not even a chance, especially when it comes to graphic design. The VAST majority of design fields predominantly use macs, so nearly all design software is usually mac compatible if not mac exclusive. Plus it’s what the computer is made for. Why are mac’s borders solid white or solid black? It’s because that way designers have a better view of their designs with less visual obstruction.

Sorry for the all over the place answer, still hope I helped. And yeah I sound pretty biased but thems are the facts haha.
